What you need to know… about your watch
Your watch is a complex precision instrument, operating 24 hours a day, year after year, in every position and under a wide range of stresses. The recommended service interval for a mechanical watch is around four to five years, but this also depends on many technical factors as well as how the watch is used and cared for.
For a quartz watch, the interval is one to two years depending on the age and functions of the quartz calibre. Whether mechanical or quartz, your watch’s proper functioning also requires intermediate checks—particularly every 1–2 years to preserve water resistance. Due to external stresses, the sealing gaskets gradually deteriorate over time.
